Do you have excellent communication and presentation skills and experience of working in a group setting? Can you follow manuals to deliver group work and demonstrate pro-social behaviour and attitudes to adult offenders?
Programme Tutors deliver group work programmes to groups of offenders as a condition of their community sentence or custodial licence. The programmes are aimed at addressing offending behaviour, such as teaching problem solving skills and skills to address alcohol and/or drug abuse. The role also involves liaising with Probation Officers/Case Managers in connection with attendance, progress, compliance and enforcement.
The ideal candidate will be an accredited and experienced programme tutor; with the ability to work effectively under pressure, to give and receive constructive feedback and have a commitment to anti-discriminatory practice. Experience of working in a tutor/mentoring role is desirable, though not essential.
Hours of work are 37 per week and evening and regular Sunday working will be required.
Applicants who are not accredited will be required to pass an Accredited Programmes assessment centre and confirmation in post is conditional upon successful completion of training in Core Skills and the Thinking Skills Programme.
